Welcome to Wendover Woods Café

We are a family run business that set out to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with amazingly good food and drink, all served with a smile from the heart of Wendover Woods.

From the beginning it was important to us to create somewhere we would go ourselves with our family, so we are pleased to welcome everyone, and our team really hope you’ll notice that our menu has been thoughtfully put together to cater for all tastes, appetites and dietary requirements. We also have a special menu for your little ones!
Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Chiltern Hills, Wendover Woods Cafe sits right on the Chiltern Hillside with an absolutely stunning view. It really is the ideal base for a family day out and great for cycling, walking, running and riding, adventure play, and Go Ape, and the café is a great starting point for all of these activities.
Bedgebury Cafe Team
Our dedicated team are here first thing every morning preparing our fresh ingredients for you to savour during your time at Wendover Woods Cafe. From front of house, to our dedicated kitchen staff, our team are constantly working hard to make sure you and your family have a memorable time, every time you visit. Whether it’s a quick coffee you’re after or a relaxing lunch, our staff are always on hand to deliver you good, fresh food, and excellent service. We look forward to welcoming you.
P.S. We don’t take pre-bookings as there is plenty of seating inside and out for everyone.
We do not provide bins on site. Forestry Research has shown that by providing bins we actually increase the amount of rubbish left. We do not have the resources to remove rubbish as soon as it’s deposited and this leads to an increase in vermin and pests like rats, wasps, crows and glisglis. Please help us to keep the Forest looking beautiful by taking your litter home with you.
We’re proud to operate a number of cafés on Forestry England sites across the South of England – from the Lakes of the National Pinetum to the Forest of Dean, all of our cafés have the same simple mission – good sustainable food served as fast as possible, operating alongside some amazing site partners that work together for the best forest days out!

A bit more about Wendover Woods

Wendover Woods has year-round interest, from beautiful displays of bluebells in the spring to barbecues and picnics in the summer followed by broad spectrum of autumnal colours as the trees turn and allows you to enjoy those crisp winter walks. In quieter areas you can watch woodland birds, including the rare firecrest and if you’re lucky and you may see a deer or two.

There is also archaeological interest in the form of Boddington hillfort and the Woods contain the highest point in the Chilterns (267m).Interested to know more about Wendover Woods? Have a further read here.
